Frequently Asked Questions

What is Infusion Therapy?

  Answer

Infusion therapy treats a wide range of conditions and is administered straight into a patient’s bloodstream. Infusions can include medication or special fluids to provide additional nutrition. Common conditions treated with infusion therapy are autoimmune diseases, infections, some cancers, neurological disorders, iron deficiency, bleeding disorders, heart failure and women’s health. Many times, infusion therapy is also used for pain management and parenteral and enteral nutrition, which can be the result of an associated condition.

Benefits of Infusion Therapy

  Answer

Infusions are often used because they do not cause gastrointestinal discomfort due to their ability to bypass the gut and often, they are more effective than oral treatments due to their mechanism of action.
