The Benefits of Home Care and Infusions

It’s National Home Care and Hospice Month. This year, The National Association for Home Care and Hospice recognizes the home care and hospice community for their tireless, compassionate work. The association is asking all Americans to commemorate the power of caring and honor the work our home care and hospice workers do for their fellow citizens daily.

Health Care Medical Infusion Specialties has several home care nurses, social workers, therapists, and others behind the scenes on staff focused solely on home care, and they are beloved for all they do to provide comfort, high-quality care, and training to our home care patients and their caregivers.

Did you know?

·      Home care providers will travel about 8 billion miles to deliver the best health care in the world;

  • Ninety percent of Americans want to age in place, and home care is the preferred method of health care delivery among the disabled, elderly, and chronically ill; and

  • Home care provides high-quality, compassionate care to more than 5 million Americans, annually.

How do we measure up?

While our home care staff isn’t quite traveling 8 billion miles per month, they do spend their time traveling the entire state of Mississippi to visit patients and caregivers. They train on equipment required for treatment, how to administer medication, and communicate with caregivers to optimize the home care experience. We also have a 24/7 nurse line should patients or caregivers have any questions.

Home Care Benefits

Many Americans want to age in place because the comfort of one’s home is more welcoming and keeps those affected feeling like they are missing out by being away. It is also much more convenient since it eliminates traveling for care. If a loved one must stay at home due to their condition or treatment, family and friends can still visit even while the medication is being administered.

High-Quality Care

Our staff is specially trained to provide care at home and teach patients, and their caregivers how to make home care successful. Whether it’s teaching practical ways to keep equipment clean, pneumonic devices to remember certain things about the care process, or just being there with a helping hand or warm heart, our staff there for support.
